Resumo


The growing demand for urban air mobility (UAM) solutions has driven the development of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft as a promising alternative for transportation in congested urban areas. This article aims to examine the state of the art of eVTOL technology, addressing the challenges and opportunities related to compliance with necessary regulations. Regulatory compliance is crucial to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of eVTOL operations. The relevance of this study lies in the potential positive impact of eVTOL aircraft on UAM. A comprehensive literature review was conducted through a systematic search in electronic databases such as ScienceDirect and Scielo. The top 10 articles were selected for the literature review, which address aspects related to eVTOL. The results showed that eVTOL aircraft present exciting conceptual and technological challenges, such as electric power storage and consumption, hybridization, advanced battery development, and superconducting materials. The research concludes that by addressing these challenges and continuing development, eVTOL aircraft have immeasurable potential for UAM.
